Many health-related conditions stem from imbalances and nutritional deficiencies that need to be corrected in order for healing to occur. Therefore, professional-grade supplements and dietary changes may be suggested for you. During a consultation, we will determine which tests are needed. These tests assess nutritional status, mitochondrial function, digestive function, food allergies, hormone imbalances, toxin exposure, and more.
A disease state or condition can be caused by many different factors, including inflammation, poor gut health, nutrient deficiencies, lifestyle choices, diet, etc. The precise manifestation of each cause depends on an individual’s genes, environment, and lifestyle. Only treatment that addresses the right cause will successfully treat the condition and have lasting benefits for the individual. Functional medicine is not a drug free approach, but an integration of health, wellness, and root-cause medicine that works alongside conventional/allopathic medicine.

Jaime McCoy is a Michigander and a Jane of all Trades! Before becoming a Physician Assistant (PA), she was a teacher, fitness instructor, purveyor of fine art, ER scribe, and manager in the world of assisted living/memory care. Jaime is, above all, a student of life and lover of all things related to optimizing health. She completed her undergrad at Clemson University (GO TIGERS!), and post-baccalaureate at William and Mary, before attending Eastern Virginia Medical School and receiving her MPA-C. Her continuing education includes online studies in functional medicine, as well as attending conferences (most recently one hosted by A4M).
Aside from dark chocolate and red wine, Jaime’s favorite things include spending time with her main squeeze, their 5 girls and son-in-law, and one crazy German Shorthaired Pointer, Penny. She is beyond thrilled to have a career that involves helping her patients lead healthy, vibrant, joy-filled lives.
Deborah Prosek is a proud graduate from The Ohio State University, which annually is one of the top 10 pharmacy programs in the nation. Throughout her entire college career, she was employed at a local independent pharmacy in Columbus, Ohio. It was at this same pharmacy that she was able to complete internship hours, with an emphasis on compounding medication.
After moving to Virginia, Deborah took advantage of opportunities throughout the different fields of Pharmacy. She headed one of the first pharmacy-based immunization programs in the Commonwealth of Virginia and was the lead in a national medication therapy management program for a large pharmacy chain.
Throughout her career, and on her own journey most importantly, Deborah began to develop a passion for functional medicine and, seeking a way to get back to her roots of truly helping patients, joining the team at Williamsburg Drug Company was a no-brainer. Deborah has most enjoyed developing and building relationships with practitioners and educators to better help her patients.
Deborah and her husband, Greg, enjoy a super active lifestyle of skiing, sailing, running, hiking and all things outdoors! They also looove their two English Cocker Spaniels!
